A great-sized kitchen stuck with a builder-grade look and tired appliances. We added a flat island with a breakfast bar for four, moved the sink to the island, and brought in pro-grade Thermador appliances, white Shaker and wood-island cabinetry, White Silestone counters, and a marble island. It won the Thermador Kitchen Design Challenge for Austin.

A dated kitchen with an awkward sink-and-island layout. We repositioned the sink and island, took the cabinets to the ceiling, and turned an old desk into wine storage — white Shaker with seedy-glass mullion doors, an alder island, white Caesarstone island with a Raven quartz perimeter, and a Thermador Pro Harmony range.
